More than just traditional pub fare, at the Aldgate Pump Hotel offers modern ontrend food and nibbles, all selected seasonally to complement the distinct Adelaide Hills weather. Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten Free options are available every day.
With intimate booths and tables to seat over 100, the Bistro is the place for lunch or dinner.
During winter, enjoy warming food and fine Adelaide Hills wines beside the open fire. In summer with one wall open, to let in the summer breeze from the beer garden, you can enjoy ice cold beer and watch the children in our new outdoor playground.

How it all started
The Aldgate Pump Hotel, a historic pub that has been a beloved fixture in the heart of Adelaide Hills since 1864. Our pub has a rich and storied history that spans over 150 years, and we take great pride in our role as a gathering place for locals and visitors alike.
Over the years, the Aldgate Pump Hotel has evolved and adapted to the changing times while still retaining its charming character and heritage. Our traditional stone facade and classic interior decor harken back to a bygone era, but our menu and offerings are thoroughly modern and tailored to the tastes of today's discerning clientele.

Functions
The Pump has hosted many a ‘knees up’ over the years, some of the most extravagant in its colonial heyday when it was reputed to have “the finest chandeliers in the entire colony”.
Upstairs our ‘Red Room’ overlooks the village of Aldgate. This beautiful room with old wooden floors, two open fires and balcony access balcony is perfect as a romantic setting for your wedding reception.
Equipped full bar facilities this room is ideal for any private or corporate function.
Catering is available for 70 – 80 seated or 100 standing – a range of menus covers all types of functions from club meetings to weddings
